Health Check - Woman with Cuppa

Congratulations on taking the first step to a new healthier you!

Quitting smoking is the best thing you'll ever do for your health, and you're in the right place to do it. Our Lifestyle Practitioners can support you through a tailor-made quit programme where we will discuss all aspects of your smoking. During your assessment we will discuss your habits and triggers associated with smoking, measure your levels of Carbon Monoxide with our Smokerlyzer and discuss the range of treatments that are available to you.

Together we will design a support plan just for you to give you the best chance of staying stopped long term. Did you know that you are 4 times more likely to be successful by joining the programme?

What is a Rolling Support Programme?

Our rolling support programmes are where the transformation happens! Joining a programme can be an anxious time for clients and we understand that. We will not embarrass you or ask you to do anything which makes you uncomfortable. You will receive support not only from your Practitioner, but from others like you too who are at various stages of their quit. You will find our programmes fun, friendly and informative – we laugh, we discuss, we share, we don’t ask you to bare your soul and in many cases, clients leave us having made some friends. When your confidence grows, you may be surprised to find yourself offering your knowledge and experience to others, which is always well received.

Perhaps you have a treatment in mind but aren’t sure – there will be someone (or many) on the programme who have firsthand experience of it.

Perhaps you struggle with a particular time of the day? No doubt others have shared the same challenge.

Perhaps you use an electric cigarette and smoke too? This is not unusual for our clients and we can support you too.

What happens at Advice and Information Sessions?

NEL Lifestyle Services (stop smoking) are in the following venues every week. If you're thinking about stopping smoking why not take it one step further by coming along to one of our advice and information sessions. There's no appointment needed. We will provide you with free advice and information and tell you all about how our service can help you when you’re ready to stop smoking. Further appointments will be agreed with your Practitioner and are likely to be held within the rolling support programme. One to one appointments are available also.

Did you know that NEL Lifestyle Services can provide a FREE service to all workplaces and services who wish to support employees to stop smoking?

This would involve a Lifestyle Practitioner coming onsite weekly and working with employees with minimum disruption. A programme is designed that suits the needs of the workplace and we provide all resources and signage for free. We can offer a minimum of 6 weekly visits.

Promoting smoking cessation and general improved health within workplace settings is good for business and benefits both employers and employees. Offering health education and stop smoking support in the workplace is a key component of North East Lincolnshire‘s public health strategy to improve health amongst the local workforce. Supporting your staff to make health improvements is a free and simple way to show them you care about their health and wellbeing, which can, in turn, boost morale and productivity.

North East Lincolnshire Council has initiated a ‘Healthy Places Award’. This is a programme to empower people to live well where they work, learn and play. All workplace establishments across NE Lincolnshire are invited to participate and achieve an award. The award is available at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels; moving from raising awareness about health issues, on to more detailed health and well-being projects.
